The students at Canterbury Girls' Secondary College in Victoria didn't have to go far to find a bargain during their lunch break yesterday. They had a great time hosting an Exchange For Change clothing swap at their school ...and the best part? Refreshing their wardrobes barely cost them a thing, helped raise awareness about ethical fashion choices and helped raise funds for Oxfam Australia.

One Million Women can’t be wrong: Love Food, Hate Waste

Our life with food

Because I live on a farm, my life revolves around the production of food. We grow it and we eat it; we sell it and we share it! On the farm where we live, overlooking the Southern Ocean, cattle and sheep are run on pasture (not a feedlot!) and crops are grown. This farm is not owned by us, but we all live here and this is where we do our school work and grow our own food.

3things takes a look at the Australian Indigenous Mentoring Experience (AIME). Mobilising scores of volunteer uni students (at last count, over 1000) to mentor Indigenous high school students, AIME’s program has proven to dramatically increase the chances of Indigenous children finishing school. The results have been outstanding - this year marks the fourth year running that AIME students have finished school at almost the same rate as every Australian child.

How well do we know our closest sisters?

International Women’s Day prompted me to reflect on just how empathetic we, as young Australians, feel towards our neighbouring sisters.
