days of our lives, and although this could be disputed (braces, a good dose of teen angst and many a socially awkward moment do take their toll) overall we could all probably agree there was some pretty good times to be had back in our school days.
So why not take a trip down memory lane and re-visit them? Something that is not only possible but can be done for a good cause this April thanks to our good old pals, The Smith Family.
Allowing us to go back to a time when passing the weekly spelling test was life’s biggest stress, the Smith Family invites workplaces, organisations or even just you and your friends to raise a bit of money this month to help disadvantaged Aussie kids out with their educational needs, by throwing your own Back 2 School Day.
Involving anything that you like, as long as it takes you for a bit of a trip down memory lane, Back 2 School Day is all about raising a bit of cash for kids who need it whilst having some fun re-creating our glory days.
Need some hints on just how to do this? The Smith Family has lots of ideas for you on their website, but check our three favourite ideas here…
1. Throw a killer recess with all your tuck shop faves: Sausage rolls, frankfurts,
fairy bread, lollies, this list could go on for quite some time, but get everyone to bring a plate and forget about those grown-up diets.2. Drag out your old school uniform: Do not pretend that it is still not laying around somewhere. Even if those grown up adult diets never quite worked out for you once you left school, get that old school bag on your back or that legend hat on your head, anything to wear for the day that will transport you back.
3. Head out to the playground: Without a doubt, one of the best things about school was that it was your responsibility to play games, a concept perhaps foreign to many of us now. Change this just for one day by playing a bit of kiss chasey, stuck in the mud or what’s the time mr wolf, you are never too old.
