3things World News Round-Up
Howdy y'all and welcome back to the Round-Up!

Organic Food That Is Not
That ain't exactly fresh news nor is it surprising that the suits running these so-called organic food corporations are colluding to label non-organic products as organic and sell them as such. It is pretty important though, so arm yourself with this information to keep from getting bilked by the fakers.
An article from the New York Times details how food labeled and sold as "organic" may contain any of a number of non-organic products. The article reports that as recently as 2002 there were 77 non-organic ingredients approved for labeling and sale in organic food products, but today that list stands at over 250.
84,000 people vs. Seventeen magazine.
Maybe you heard about that spunky little gal who challenged Seventeen magazine, collected 84,000 signatures in support of her cause, and prompted the rag to agree to stop photoshoping images of models' bodies?
Well, Ms Julia Bluhm, blogger for SPARK Summit, probably deserves a bit more credit than this article gives her, but the important fact remains - accomplishing social change requires organisation.
It appears Ms Bluhm became the face of SPARK's campaign to pressure Seventeen and her ostensible success is owed to the organisation's support.
However, it came about, we'll take it as a win!
