To celebrate there's a free deck art exhibition (till 16 Oct) and a skateboard maintenance workshop (1 Oct, 3pm-5pm) at Waterloo Library. See yourself as a future Cirque du Soleil star? Learn circus skills, tips and tricks from the experts (8 Oct, 2pm, $15).
Get creative:
Brain turned to mush from algebra? Learn how to make your own zine in Newtown (4 Oct, 11am-4pm)- it's free just bring some pics of your favourite stuff. If you're more old-school, make your own bound and illustrated book at Carriage Works (1 Oct, 10:45am, $15). Remember that letter Mr. Darcy sent to Elizabeth? Learn to write in the style of yester-year in a free beginners calligraphy workshop at Ultimo Library (6 Oct, 11am-12:30pm). Create your own chalk art masterpiece at a free workshop at Stockland Wetherill Park (2-6 Oct, 11am-2pm).

Stay stylish
Sick of your wardrobe? Host your own clothes swap with your friends. Or learn to knit and crochet for free at Surry Hills Library (8 Oct 2pm-3:30pm). Wool and needles will be supplied and in no time you'll be creating this. Hold a fancy-dress party (theme ideas: Hippies, 1920s, Grease, Disco, 1980s). Check out Frida Kahlo, Janis Joplin, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn below at a dead famous people fancy-dress. The best place to turn up wild outfits for cheap is your local Salvos or Vinnies.
