National Volunteering Video Competition

Love volunteering? Budding film maker? Have we got a comp for you!

The Australian Government is running an online video competition from 19 April – 5pm July 22^nd 2012, asking young individuals and groups to create a short video promoting the benefits of volunteering to their friends, peers and the broader Australian community.

The theme is ‘Your Passion. Our Nation. Volunteer. Now!’

Entrants submit a 30-60 second audiovisual advertisement and are broken into two age groups:

Category A – Aged 15- under 18 years

Category B- Aged 18- under 25 years

Judging will be based on:

Content - each Entry should communicate and reflect the theme of the Competition "Your Passion, Our Nation. Volunteer Now!"

Idea and Originality

Video production quality including editing, sound and lighting

Volunteering can take so many forms, from helping out at a homeless shelter to volunteering here at 3things! Some benefits of volunteering include:

Did you know that the Australian Government’s National Volunteering Strategy has identified that today youth volunteering is below the national average? To better support and encourage young people to get involved, the competition aims to motivate and help young filmmakers gain skills and experience.
