We're big fans of upcycling, swapping, altering, borrowing, reusing, sharing, mending and any other tricks that mean we can make over our wardrobe without having to screw over the environment or people making our clothes. So when we heard there was going to be a mass clothes swap at the MCA as part of the 18th Biennale of Sydney, which this year is themed: 'All our relations', we had to get involved.
So if you're still housing a vest you got for Christmas that will probably never get worn, rethinking your 'bargain' end of financial year sale purchase, or just need a change between seasons, head on down to the MCA's Clothing Exchange on Sunday July 22 to trade in your unwanted goods. Not only will you be able to swap your ill-fitting clothes for some threads that you'll actually wear, you'll also get be able to channel your inner fashion designer by joining in the sewing circle, and leave your mark at the event by participating in the interactive installation happening on the day.
Our 3things street team will be there, talking all things sustainable and ethical fashion and how we can reduce our fashion footprint.
